Credfeld have installed two boiler sets of Low NOx heavy oil Osynox atomizers and matched swirl vane flame stabilizers at Delimara Power Station in Malta. These have been fitted to bring the emissions down in line with the latest regulations of 450mg/Nm3 NOx and a corresponding particulate emission limit of 50mg/Nm3 for existing plant.

The original 6 x 41MW heavy oil burners on Units 1 and 2 have been adapted to accept the Credfeld critical components that have been proven on many installations elsewhere to reduce emissions considerably without compromising on efficiency or other operational parameters.

The Graphical Emission Report below shows Unit 1 and 2's performance over the period, 11th July to 10th August 2010 and the dramatic decrease in NOx emissions from Unit 1 when the new Osynox atomizers were sequentially fitted and the combustion trimmed between 1st August 2010 and 3rd August 2010. During this period the NOx was reduced from 800mg/Nm3 NOx to 450mg/Nm3 NOx. The new Swirlers are yet to fitted on Unit 1 to bring it inline with Unit 2.
